OUTINGS POLICY

The following is a statement of the Governors policy on charging for school activities.  (Under the terms of the Education Reform Act 1988 schools are unable to charge for outings/activities which take place in school time other than the towards the boarding costs of residential visits.)

Where activities, field visits or outings are taking place involving children during the course of the school day, it is the policy of the Governors, where necessary, to request a voluntary donation towards the cost of the visit.  However, no pupil will be excluded from any such activity through failure to contribute voluntarily.  Pupils will be treated in the same way whether or not they have contributed.  Where costs could not be met from donations then this clearly would jeopardise that event or visit taking place.
