Wedding at Cana

On Thursday 21st May, Year 3 held a Jewish wedding. We all had to get dressed up in our best clothes for the wedding even Miss Booth and Mrs Hollamby! At the wedding we all learnt about the customs and the order in which the ceremony would take place. We all get to have a go at a special Jewish dance. "I thought the dance was fun because it is different to the way we dance." laughed William.

We all tried some traditional Jewish food too such as bread, lamb, olives, grapes, manadarins and figs. "Most of the food tasted nice but I didn't like the olives." said Sophia. Two children from Year 3, Michalina and William, were the couple pretending to get married and they had a glass of blackcurrant to celebrate but a Jewish couple would really have a glass of wine!
