Major Performance Time!

We are really excited about the concert that our children are taking part in on 16th June at Lincoln Drill Hall.

Marking the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta, Nettleham Junior School are working alongside Sinfonia Viva with Conductor Dominic Wheeler, composer Filipe Sousa and young people from Monks Abbey Primary School and Lincoln Castle Academy present an amazing evening of music old and new, inspired by the themes of freedom, democracy and justice.

This has been developed over three weeks with twice weekly half day 'workshops' in school and a day at the newly refurbished Lincoln Castle. We are really excited to hear what the orchestra make of the pieces that our children have written and will perform with them.

It will be an evening not to be missed! Buy your tickets now!

Those year 6 pupils children who have not been working with the orchestra are involved in a very exciting project with the Royal Institute of British Architects and Soundlincs music development agency. Their final ‘products’ will be on display in Lincoln this Saturday 13th June as part of the ‘Freedom’ Magna Carta Festival. Both the children’s finished architectural models and their electronic music created on iPads will be the main feature of the RIBA’s ‘Architruck’ which will be on the Brayford Waterside North directly in front of the Holiday Inn Hotel. You can also make your own architectural models and have a go at composition on the iPads.
It would be fantastic if you can make it there between 11am and 5pm to see how creative our children are!
