End of Term is Nigh

As we approach the end of term our children have been unbelievably busy! We have had some fabulous performances from Year 3 and Year 4, year 4s have explored advent in church, we have been visited by students and staff from Denmark and the Czech Republic and Year 5 and 6’s iSing Pop Christmas project has filled the school with song. The school PTA Christmas Fayre was a great success, thank you so much to everyone who helped to organise this event and to those of you who attended in record numbers.

Further events in the coming week:

  • Our iSing Pop Christmas Concert for year 5 and 6 is at 6.30pm on 18th December in the school hall. Children performing will be in ‘festive dress’.
  • Children’s Christmas Party Day is on Thursday 19th December. Alongside the usual food and games we have the theatre company Pals Productions returning to school to present ‘Dick Whittington’, kindly funded by the PTA. You should already have your lists with regard to party food that needs to be provided by each child. Also children can come to school in their ‘party’ clothes on Thursday, packed lunches are not needed for party day and there will be no hot school meals as we have a ‘shared’ lunch from contributions.
  • In the morning of 19th December Year 4 and 5 will be visiting Playzone as a replacement activity for our ice skating trip earlier this week that did not take place due to melted ice!
  • You may wish to visit Nettleham All Saints Church through the Christmas period for one of their services or simply to look at the tree which will be decorated by our Year 6 children as part of our simple Christmon Service on Friday 20th December.

Please note that school closes at 3pm on Friday 20th December and reopens for the New Year on Tuesday 7th January 2014.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a New Year filled with joy.
