English / Topic

4W have already done some work on the water cycle as we did our science in a different order. So 4W you can use this as revision and do some extra research if you want too.

Watch this film about the water cycle – make notes if you want.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5gFI3pMvoI

Watch and listen to the water cycle song:

https://www.theschoolrun.com/what-is-the-water-cycle

Watch this PowerPoint about the water cycle

Make a large labelled diagram of the water cycle. Make sure that you use this vocabulary:

  • evaporation

  • condensation

  • precipitation

  • water vapour

  • droplets

This is a sample diagram that you could use for ideas:

4W – yours should be very detailed. Feel free to use colour and any media (collage etc)

There are three comprehensions in this pack. Look at these with someone at home and choose the one that you think is right for you. (The first one is the easiest).

If you want, you can read on the screen and write the answers on paper. The answers are included so see if you can get an adult to mark with you when you have finished.

Try one of these water cycle experiments. Ask an adult to help you or be around in the same room.

Click here for the  instructions for experiment 1

For both of these it says you need blue food colouring but any colour would work!
