Cinematheque Diaries

For several years our school has been involved in the international Cinematheque film project

During the COVID-19 school closure we are taking part in an international film project...join us.

The 'rules of the game' are as follows:

We are all living in a unique moment, staying at home like this for whole days.

But each of us experiences it differently, depending on where we are, with our own feelings.

We suggest you record these little moments of your daily life by reporting your feelings : difference between inside and outside, what we see and hear from our  window, what we feel, the little ones details that we don't usually pay attention to, what is new…

Everyone’s films will be brought together in a collective journal from around the world!

With a smartphone, tablet, or other, everyone films a sensation of their daily life by shooting one or more shots in horizontal format, and preferably fixed, for a total duration of 2 minutes maximum.

You can add elements providing an idea of when it was filmed (film a written commentary, today's date, a clock, etc.).

No music is to be added, but music that might be being played at the time of filming is OK.

Send the film to Mr Gibbons – you could email it, send it by iCloud, Google Drive, One Drive or, even better, share via this dropbox link:

- either a file with the shots already placed end to end (in the order of shooting, no editing)

- or the different shots (without cutting, without retouching, without editing) specifying the order of shooting (plan 1: window view, plan 2: wind in the hair, etc.).

With a title: first and last name of the filmmaker, date, time, place (city, town, neighbourhood, living room or bedroom, etc.).

You can make one sensation video a day, it's unlimited!

All of the adults involved in the project, teachers, speakers, coordinators, will also be making films!

Here are some of the films that have already been made:
