Another wonderful term

Summer time is here …and the children are enjoying our wonderful field and environment. It is a delight to be in school, with children and staff on top form.

We have been really impressed with our Year 6s as they have approached their SATs with a determined and sensible attitude that will serve them well in the coming years. We look forward to a jam packed final term with lots of exciting activities – from Bikewise to York Trips to Sports Day to Summer Fayres to Kingswood…and much much more.

Just another month or so in school has seen:

  • An amazing year 6 art exhibition
  • A second brilliant victory in the Second Annual William Farr maths challenge
  • A successful PTA disco
  • A very successful series of football and athletics events including first place in team and events – Lincoln Cross Country League, great performances in the Lincoln 10k curtain raiser and our football team currently in contention for the league title…again!
  • Excellent Easter Services in church
  • The culmination of a very good radio project with Siren FM/ Lincoln University
  • Participation in a world record attempt and a mass music making event at the Epic Centre
  • Yet more clubs/ community involvement – e.g. bell-ringing, bowls and mad science
  • And more besides!

Summer uniform

We would like to remind you of the following guidelines for uniform with key ‘summer’ elements:

Red sweatshirt with embroidered school crest

•              White polo shirt with school crest (These can be worn under sweatshirts in winter but provide a cool, practical and smart option without a sweatshirt on warm summer days.)

•              White shirts or blouses are an alternative to a polo shirt.

•              Grey trousers or skirt. (Girls are welcome to wear tailored grey trousers) It is acceptable for girls and boys to wear tailored, knee-length shorts as an alternative.

•              Black shoes. (Girls should not wear shoes with high heels as these are dangerous in the playground). Please be aware that we do not allow open toed sandals in school and also that children will need a change of shoes in the summer months if they want to play on the field.

•              Dresses in red/white or green/white are acceptable alternative wear for girls in Summer.

•              Jewellery should not be worn to school.  The only exceptions would be a plain wristwatch and small stud earrings if strictly necessary – these should be removed or taped for PE.
