So many exciting things happening in school.
As we come to the end of our second full week in school, I cannot believe that the children have completed just 12 days of the new school year. They are so settled, focussed and making a real difference, just perfect. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our harvest festival which took place this afternoon - the donations and decorated boxes brought the church to life and will be very gratefully received by Lincoln Community Larder.
Fun Sports Afternoon
Fun Sports is planned for the afternoon of Wednesday 23rd September from 1.30pm.
The intention of this event is that our new children work together in a structured and enjoyable way with the other members of the school community. All parents and friends are more than welcome to attend.
As part of our Fun Sports we will also be holding a coffee and cake afternoon in aid of Macmillan (this is something that we have done for many years and it is very close to our hearts). The stall will be open during fun sports and after school on the playground.
We welcome any donation of cakes on the day and please send make sure that you or bring some change in to buy some delicious treats.
PTA meeting - new year, new you!
Our wonderful PTA will be holding their first meeting next Wednesday 23rd September at 3.45pm and would love to see any new members who are willing to join. It is such a friendly, fun and highly efficient group and they do a great job supporting school, fundraising and organising brilliant events.
Year Six—A Big Year
Our Year Six children are entering a very important time in their school lives. We have entered the period when they choose their secondary schools for September 2026 and they will also have important assessments over the course of the year including SATs.
We are always available to discuss your concerns and answer any queries that you may have. Please note that the dates for next year’s SATs are Monday 10th May - Thursday 13th May 2027.
Reporting Absences
If your child is absent from school please contact the absence line (24/7) on 01522 750376 before 9.30 am on the first day of absence. Alternatively a message can be sent by email or via our website—‘Parents’ section then ‘Sickness Reporting’.
We continue to have a very high attendance rate which is a testament both to how much the children seem to enjoy school and also to your support.
Uniform notes
Thank you for sending the children back to school looking so smart and prepared. Please note that children should not wear nail varnish, all shoulder length and longer hair should be tied back and children should not wear jewellery or trainers. Earrings, if worn, should be simple studs. Also please label everything that you can.
Breaktime snacks— fruit and vegetables only
Please send the children with either fruit—fresh or dried— or vegetables (preferably prepared!) for their morning snack. Obviously this does not replace a good breakfast
We also feel that it is very important that the children drink enough water during the course of the school day and your child’s teacher will talk to them about the arrangements for this in their particular year groups.
