Latest News and Events for November 2026
Nettleham News in November
It has been another busy and productive week at Nettleham Church of England Aided Junior School, and as always, I would like to thank you for your continued support.
π Looking Ahead
We have lots of exciting opportunities and events taking place next week:
- Parents' Evenings will be taking place next week and we look forward to sharing your child's achievements and progress with you. Do get in contact if you are unsure about your booking and also, as a matter of urgency, if you haven’t booked an appointment yet.
- Our Year 5 Lions' Roar Entrepreneur Competition finalists will be presenting their ideas to members of Lincoln Lions Club on Monday. We are incredibly proud of the creativity, teamwork and enterprise skills demonstrated by all the children involved. The winners will go on to the National Finals next month.
- On Tuesday, we are delighted to welcome Reverend Michelle into school to lead our Collective Worship.
- Remembrance Day will be marked on 11th November as we take time to reflect, remember and show respect for those who have been and continue to be affected by war and conflict.
- On Friday 13th November, we will be supporting Children in Need and look forward to raising funds for this wonderful cause. The day will also end with our eagerly anticipated PTA Disco, which is always a highlight of the term.
π§Έ Children in Need Day - Friday 13th November
- On Friday 13th November, we will be supporting Children in Need with a simple but fun day for everyone.
- Children are invited to come to school wearing their pyjamas, dressing gowns, onesies and slippers and we ask for a voluntary contribution to support this fantastic charity.
- π° Children in Need Cake Sale
We will also be holding a cake sale during the day, so children may wish to bring a little extra money to purchase a treat. Cakes will be between 50p and £1. - Most importantly, we would be very grateful for donations of cakes, buns, biscuits or other baked treats for the sale. Whether homemade or shop-bought, every contribution will help us raise additional funds for Children in Need.
- Children in Need supports thousands of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, funding projects that help improve mental health and wellbeing, provide safe spaces, and offer support to children facing challenges in their lives. By taking part, our pupils can make a real difference while having lots of fun along the way.
- Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. We look forward to seeing the school filled with cosy pyjamas, colourful onesies and plenty of delicious cakes! π§Έππ°

β¨ Extra Fun on the Night
There will also be pocket-money items available to purchase, including:
- Sweets
- Pocket money toys
- Face glitter
- Transfer tattoos
Children may therefore wish to bring a little extra spending money along with them.
πͺ Collection Arrangements
Parents and carers are asked to collect their children from the school hall promptly at 7.30pm at the end of the disco.
A huge thank you to our PTA volunteers for organising this event. We hope it will be a fantastic evening and a wonderful opportunity for the children to enjoy time with their friends while raising valuable funds for our school.
π Attendance Matters
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring children attend school regularly and punctually. Our current whole school attendance stands at an impressive 96.7%.
This is tremendously positive and reflects the value that our families place on education. Strong attendance helps children build confidence, maintain friendships, develop positive learning habits and make the most of every opportunity available to them. Every day in school really does make a difference, and we appreciate the commitment shown by both pupils and families.
πΊ Supporting Others
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. Through your generosity, we are helping to raise funds that support serving and former members of the Armed Forces and their families, whilst also helping our children develop an understanding of remembrance, gratitude and service.
I would also like to thank you for your support of today's Foodbank Friday collection. These donations will directly help local individuals and families who may be facing difficult circumstances. As a school community, we believe it is important that our children learn the values of compassion, generosity and helping those in need. Your contributions make a real difference and are greatly appreciated.
π In Closing
As we move further into the term, it is wonderful to see our children embracing new challenges, supporting one another and making the most of the many opportunities available to them. Thank you for your ongoing partnership with our school.
I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable weekend.
With best wishes,
