It’s World Book Day next week on Thursday 5^th March and, to celebrate this, we are inviting children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

In addition to this, we would like the children to bring in their favourite book as they will be completing our Spring Term handwriting competition using an extract from their chosen book on the day.

Throughout the day, teachers will be working with the children on additional World Book Day activities in class and, as a whole school event, we will be hosting “The Masked Reader.” Children will watch pre-recorded videos of selected staff members reading their favourite children’s book in character and will have to guess who is behind each disguise. The masked readers will then be revealed during assembly later in the day.

We are really looking forward to what will be an inspiring and exciting day celebrating the joy of reading.
