School Bursar

Nettleham Church of England Aided Junior School,

12 hours per week, 41 weeks per year,

Salary Scale: G6  (£23,791 to £25,991 pro rata)

Permanent Position

Nettleham Church of England Aided Junior School is seeking to appoint a self-motivated and highly-organised Bursar to start in the week beginning 5th July 2021.  The successful applicant will be involved in all non-academic aspects of running the school and will have a “hands on” approach.  The Bursar needs to be a team player with initiative, great interpersonal skills and be committed to bringing the school’s vision to life!  Whilst previous experience in a school is not essential, it is desirable.

We are a friendly, welcoming Church school and our team are all dedicated to the children and families who attend. The successful applicant will play a vital role, supporting our Headteacher and Governors to provide the school with strategic financial management, support and guidance.

The post also includes a significant contribution to the planning, development, and monitoring of services to the school. The Bursar will be responsible to the school governing body for the conduct of the financial affairs, business management and material state of the premises and to the Head Teacher for day-to-day administration and operational matters. 

Duties include:

Day to day financial management

Monthly financial reporting to the Headteacher/SLT/Governors

Personnel management including pre-employment checks, obtaining HR advice and payroll checks

Responsibility for the health & safety, maintenance and upkeep of the school site and buildings
